Walks on the Beach of Waikiki

February 10, 2012

View of Diamond Head, Waikiki

Our goal was to reach the beautiful Waikiki Beach and see Diamond Head by noon. We were worried about our prospects when the first 4 ½ hours of our quick getaway to Hawaii were surrounded by white puffy clouds as we flew across the Pacific. Clouds aside, my wife and I were sipping Mai Tais looking at Diamond Head at 20 past Noon, 20 minutes later than our goal. Were we disappointed…….I don’t think so!!!

For this trip we booked three nights at the Miramar Waikiki, one block from the famed Waikiki Beach. The Miramar at Waikiki is cute and clean. We were fortunate enough and had the pleasure of staying in an Ocean View Room, which was just renovated. The restaurant is elegant and there is a great pool area with a sports bar, which we loved. During the day we explored the incredible Island of Oahu. Each night my wife and I held hands as we walked down Waikiki Beach with the moon as our only light.

Talking about a romantic trip, the next time you’re looking to get away and rekindle the fire, I would highly recommend you stay at the Miramar at Waikiki and end each night with a romantic stroll down Waikiki Beach. Would I recommend a Waikiki for a romantic honeymoon? For the couple who enjoys adventure and exploring during the day and yet wants to take romantic walks down the beach at night as well, yes, I would ABSOLUTELY recommend Miramar Waikiki. We can’t wait to go back!!!

I also love Waikiki for a vacation spot. There is so much to do, but with a short walk you can be away from the crowds. They’ve also done a great job with things like movies on the beach!
